1940s New York Creations Ecru Wool Tilt Top Hat W/ Feathers 。This is truly a showstopper taupe felt tilt hat from the amazing 1940\'s. The structure is oblong, extending backwards and creating a slight pointy shape. There are magnificent ostrich feathers emerging from the back. The quills are covered by an interesting large metal brooch which depicting people, as shown in the photos. The full veil is the same color as the feathers. There is an elastic band attached to the inside of the hat to help keep it in place. Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, an extended cap, or a combination of these. 30s Fashion certainly seemed fussier than the 1920s with its relentless ornaments of bows, trims and frills.
