Vintage metallic turban with - Gem。This is a sought after and unusual straw modified turban from the 1940\'s. The hat is made completely out of creatively woven narrow navy and tan bands. To hold the shape, there is a stiffer navvy fabric half cap inside the hat. There are matching tan ostrich feathers to finish this incredibly beautiful millinery creation. There is an elastic band attached to the inside of the hat to keep it in place. A draped turban or turban hat is a millinery design in which fabric is draped to create headwear closely moulded to the head. Sometimes it may be stiffened or padded, although simpler versions may just comprise wound fabric that is knotted or stitched. It may include a peak, feather or other details to add height. It generally covers most or all of the hair. There is no designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years.
