1940s Feather Hat - Etsy。This is a beautiful example of the millinery creations of the fashionable 40s\'! The hat is made of beautiful brown felt. It is one piece molded into a conical shape that rises up at one side, and tilts forward. There is a gorgeous long and curly fuchsia died pheasant feather that pierces the back and then projects forwards. There is a fabric covered elastic band attached to the inside to keep the hat in a tilted position. Simply Stunning! Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, an extended cap, or a combination of these. 30s Fashion certainly seemed fussier than the 1920s with its relentless ornaments of bows, trims and frills. There is no designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. Please keep in mind that you are buying a vintage hat, not new nor perfect! This is an authentic piece of fashion history!
